unforgettable print

While life goes by at a fast pace, I choose to be a slow perfume wafter and writer. I enjoy taking my time diving deep into a fragrance’s olfactory story.

I've enjoyed Lipstick Rose for the past (many) years but I didn't want to throw undeserving words at it. Even now, it feels my words don't rise to its worth.

Lipstick Rose’s elegance feels easy and although it might not be everyone's darling, it doesn't force itself into a space one naturally gravitates towards nor makes you feel stuck into a no exit alley.

LR has a sheer ability to transport throughout all the red lipstick eras and to absorb oneself into each richly layered story in a non pretentious way. I own many great fragrances that play on a similar (nostalgic) street, but they are pretentious and not easily accessible. Don't get me wrong, Lipstick Rose doesn't burn bright, hot and short, it does leave an unforgettable print. The world stops existing as long as its particles live and breath on skin. Ralf Schwieger built Lipstick Rose so as to grow stronger and to push the sense of smell into expanding its limits, even if it's unidimensional. He didn't take for granted the power of a red lipstick and used it as a backstory for the fragrance's character development, whose' starting point lies in fusing violets and roses, together creating a sophisticated and voluptuous aura around. Their lovemaking gives birth to an undeniable retro scent, reminiscent of old makeup, that retains all of the flowers’ romantic side by showcasing their sweet-fruity and powdery qualities and roots them in place with vanilla pillows and cotton musks.

Lipstick Rose requires a certain level of experience in order to fully understand and enjoy its fragrance because there's nothing short or juvenile about it. It's definitely a love letter to all humans confident enough to wear powdery florals.
